Knoxville Daily Photo will post one photo per day taken from the Knoxville/Knox County, Tennessee area. Knoxville is the city of my birth, the place where I work, and the largest city near our hometown. It's a wonderful community in which to raise our family. It's really a beautiful place . . . . at least I think so.

I am not a professional photographer; I call myself a point & shoot photographer. I have had a genuine love for and interest in photography since childhood. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S600 ~ which I love for many reasons that I won't list here. Sometimes I use my old camera which is a Nikon Coolpix 5900.

Photography is something that I enjoy immensely. My photographs & albums are treasured above all other material things I own. The memories that are captured and preserved through my camera are so precious.

I am glad that I have discovered City Daily Photo and started a photo blog. It's an honor to share my little corner of the world with those who find themselves here. Enjoy looking around my blog, and welcome to all who visit.

Aren't these old signs the best?! There's 2 old signs downtown Roanoke that I love, one is an old coffee sign and the other a Dr. Pepper. I've photographed them but from the freeway, need to get closer!

I miss the smell of roasting coffee downtown since they've moved to Sutherland.

Are they making lofts out of the building? I had wondered what they were doing. I see this sign from the parking lot at work, and it appears the building is under construction.

If I ever read the paper I might know the answer to my question here.

Great sign. We have a few originals like this in LA.

Jim...this sign is huge...larger than the average billboard!

Tanya...these old signs are my favorites...they have such great character!

Knoxville Girl...I miss the smell of roasting coffee so much! It was always a nice greeting every morning on my drive to work!

Leedra...this is the JFG sign that overlooks the Tennessee River on the south-side of the Gay Street Bridge. I'm not sure about the use of the old JFG building. It would be a safe bet though that there will be some redevelopment!

Hey JT! Thanks for stopping by! I visit your blog everyday and love it!

Fantastic! I grew up in Charlotte, we had this same big sign over one highway. It looks incredible with th lights on at dark. Great find and dynamite shot!

Freshly ground coffee and baking bread are two smells I would walk a mile for and is one of the reasons we like to shop at Krogers.

Hope of Knoxville Daily Photo. Hope can squeeze images out of her Nikon Coolpix that will astonish you. The photographs of her kids capture the essence of childhood and a mother's love with the same poignancy and joy of the paintings of Mary Cassatt..."
