Knoxville Daily Photo will post one photo per day taken from the Knoxville/Knox County, Tennessee area. Knoxville is the city of my birth, the place where I work, and the largest city near our hometown. It's a wonderful community in which to raise our family. It's really a beautiful place . . . . at least I think so.

I am not a professional photographer; I call myself a point & shoot photographer. I have had a genuine love for and interest in photography since childhood. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S600 ~ which I love for many reasons that I won't list here. Sometimes I use my old camera which is a Nikon Coolpix 5900.

Photography is something that I enjoy immensely. My photographs & albums are treasured above all other material things I own. The memories that are captured and preserved through my camera are so precious.

I am glad that I have discovered City Daily Photo and started a photo blog. It's an honor to share my little corner of the world with those who find themselves here. Enjoy looking around my blog, and welcome to all who visit.

Hot Doughnuts Now!

I am on a diet....this time using the Weight Watchers online program. So far, I have lost 9 lbs.! I am happy about this, but know that really the difficult part comes when you reach your goal and then have to maintain your weight. I know this because I lost 32 lbs. in 2007 with Weight Watchers (meetings) and then in 2008 gained it all back and then some.

It is such a struggle for me to cut out sweets . . . especially chocolate. But another of my favorites is Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They are just so sinfully good.

We came across this retro/vintage Krispy Kreme store on one of our family weekend getaways to Chattanooga, TN which is about 100 miles south of Knoxville. I had to have a photo, and of course we bought a dozen glazed doughnuts, too!

Congrats on losing the 9 lbs so far! I'm on a diet too and I have to look the other way when I pass Krispy Kreme, especially if they have the red "hot doughnuts now" sign turned on!

oh, the temptation... I need to get serious about dieting, too, and those donuts just don't help at all..

Krispy Kreme and bacon are evidence that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

If you like the heavenly goodness of Krispy Kreme donuts, but you want to balance them with some exercise, you should run in the Krispy Kreme Challenge.

Krispy Kreme are the best and definitely hard to resist when dieting. Keep up your good work.

9 pounds is great. I have been going to the gym since last August and have only lost 5 pounds. Hopefully, I am moving it around a bit though. I love that sign.

Hope of Knoxville Daily Photo. Hope can squeeze images out of her Nikon Coolpix that will astonish you. The photographs of her kids capture the essence of childhood and a mother's love with the same poignancy and joy of the paintings of Mary Cassatt..."
